Mail with embedded images, attached files
and rich text
If you receive mail with an attached file, a paper clip icon appears next to
the message, as shown in the figure below on the left. If the message contains
an embedded or background image, it will say "Embedded image not displayed"
below the To: field, as shown in the figure below on the right.
You cannot display the embedded or background image, or access the
attached file from your handheld. However, you can ensure attachments are
saved for viewing when you sign on to your desktop AOL by selecting
Keep in the New Mail or Old Mail tab, or by selecting
Keep all mail received as new in Auto AOL.
- If a file was attached, the name of the file is shown below the To: field.
- If the message contains rich text, the text is displayed but it is
converted to ordinary text.
Note: You can forward the message with its attached file, as
long as the message is also in your Online Mailbox.

Chairman; e-mail from Screen Name: AOLYouveGotPics; e-mail from Screen

than this, the following notification is displayed at the end of the body
text when you reach the 32K limit: ***MESSAGE EXCEEDED MAXIMUM SIZE***.

Searching for text in AOL for your Palm handheld
You can use the Find feature of your handheld to search for specific text
in a message. (Review Find in your Palm documentation.) You can search
offline and online. If you search offline, Find will search all messages in

and the body of messages you have read. Using Find for specified text
displays the sender and the subject of the message on a single line. Tapping
this line opens the message.
When you invoke Find, a global search is made of all handheld applications
that support Find. If the text appears in more than one application, all
instances are displayed.
- Tap the Find icon on your handheld (
).
The Find dialog box displays.
- Enter the text you are looking for in the Find field.
- Tap OK. A search is then made for all instances where this text occurs.
If the text is found in AOL for your Palm handheld, the matches are listed by sender and
subject.

- The first line displays the text searched for
- In this example, the second line displays the application on your handheld
in which the searched for text was found
- The next line displays the sender (DTst2) and the Subject (Meeting
Agenda) of the message in which the text was found
- The following lines display the applications that were searched, but
the text was not found there
- Choose one of the following options.
- Tap the line with the sender and subject to open the message.
